Introduction

Data was taken from the General Hospital of H. Adam Malik Medan during the period of January 1, 2020 to August 31, 2022.

Of the 45 samples studied, it was found that most of the CSOM patients, as many as 62.2%, had conductive hearing loss. Among patients with a safe CSOM type, the majority experienced mild hearing loss (22.2%), while in patients with unsafe CSOM types, moderate hearing loss was found (33.3%). This study shows that there is a significant relationship between the type of CSOM and the type of hearing loss (p = 0.017) and the degree of hearing loss (p = 0.009).
