Introduction

West Nias Regency, as one of the new autonomous regions in Indonesia, has become the focus of attention related to the welfare of its people. This study aims to reveal the extent of the level of welfare of the community in West Nias Regency by utilizing secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency and related agencies.

Methodology Approach

In this analysis, EViews 6 was chosen as an estimation tool, which facilitates data processing and presentation of regression results. The Human Development Index (HDI) is the main indicator for measuring welfare because it includes aspects of health, education, and better living standards. Meanwhile, government spending in the field of education and health functions as an independent variable that affects the level of community welfare. The Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method was used to analyze the relationship between government spending and community income to HDI.
