The analysis used is descriptive analysis and simple linear regression.

From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the suitability of work placement has a significant positive influence on the work performance of Bappeda employees in South Tapanuli Regency. For this reason, it is important for this government agency to continue to improve the placement process of employees to be in accordance with their competencies. This effort will not only improve individual achievements, but will also have a positive impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of public services in the area. In the future, further research needs to be carried out to explore other factors that influence employee work performance so that more appropriate steps can be taken in managing human resources.
