The inability to meet the needs of children can cause long-term impacts on the mental and physical health of children.

Although the law has regulated the protection, its implementation in the field, especially by the Social Service of North Sumatra Province, has not been running optimally. This is caused by the existence of miscommunication between the Social Service and related parties regarding the best way to protect abandoned children.
