Introduction

The city of Medan is facing a significant challenge in managing its complex parking system. To address this issue, the Medan City Government launched an e-parking program on October 18, 2021, as an innovative step to transition from a manual parking system to an electronic parking system. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of electronic parking systems in realizing the concept of Smart City in Medan. Despite the implementation of e-parking, there are still inequalities in its application, which can be seen from the low understanding of the community regarding e-parking, the confusion of parking officers in using tools, and the practice of gathering parking fees in cash.
